Home Group Update

Acts 2:46 "And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people."

Patterned according to Acts 2:46, our Small Groups are now called "Home Groups". We will be meeting every first, second and third Wednesday. Home Groups will not meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month. If the month has a fifth Wednesday we will be meeting at the church for a fellowship dinner. The home groups will also be sharing the responsibility of cleaning the church (each week) and child care on Wednesdays and Sundays. Pastor Dave is starting a 13-16 week Bible study for people who have recently joined us.

This will be an awesome time of teaching, sharing and learning.

If you would like to join a home group, please contact Pastor Dave for more information.

RFC Youth News

By: Justin L.

We are living in a day when the youth in America and the world are living in utter darkness. This younger generation lives their lives however they want to live, whatever seems right for them. There is no sense of morality, no sense of right or wrong. Yet this generation is very determined to be different from the last generation. In fact, they are determined to be different from any generation. However, despite their determination, they are still in darkness and lawlessness. In these dark days this generation is crying out for something they have never experienced. They are crying out for HOPE! Glory be to God! That hope is on the rise, and it is in the form of transformed young people. The young people from this generation that have been transferred from darkness to light are reaching back and calling to their generation, there is hope! When the darkness gets darker, the light gets brighter; the light that I see shining in this generation is full of the fire of God.

The youth group at Restoration Church is joining with Christian young people all across the world who are rising up and becoming the vanguard (forefront) of the church. There is a fire and a passion that is beginning to burn in this Casper youth group. These kids are more hungry for the things of God than ever before, and are determined to seek God and to see the Holy Spirit move in an awesome way. There is a spiritual maturity in this youth group and they are seeking God like leaders, which they are becoming. These kids are a contagious fire that is beginning to spread throughout the church.

We have been in the process of a spiritual transition in this youth group. God is taking us into a new day, and we dare not stay where we were. Our worship and relationship with God are going deeper. We are moving into a season of touching the emotions of God. We know that love is a choice, but we are learning that love also has feelings. This youth group has been worshiping God out of a choice, and rightfully so, but we are now beginning to worship Him with a consuming desire in our hearts. It is the kind of desire that you can feel in the pit of your stomach crying out for more of Him. Love is first a choice, but then there should be the feeling of love.

We are also in the process of reaching out to our generation and this community. We are putting together some outreach material and then well begin to do some evangelism as a youth group. The dynamic power that is living inside these kids is getting ready to explode! We are going to see the power of God hit this community as the youth group becomes an arm of this church to reach out to this generation.

I encourage you to pray that the kids who are presently in this youth group will grow in their relationship with God and with each other. Also pray that they will be effective in His work as they begin to go out and witness. We truly are seeing the raising up of leaders who will go out and train up not only their own generation, but also the generation to follow. However, the youth group is only a part of the body, and without you doing your part, they will cease to work properly. The whole body must function together, so join with us as we pursue God and His purposes with a passion.

Be Prepared, Change is Coming!

By: Scott S.

Sounds earth shattering? Sounds like it will change your life? It very well may! What I'm talking about is having some of you take your place as a greeter, an usher, or a parking lot attendant.

You could be among these.

Super Pastor Dave

Faster than a speeding bullet as he jumps from Ephesians to Habbakuk. Able to do many projects and have 20 irons in the fire. It's a bird! It's a plane! No! It's... it's Pastor Dave. Our pastor may not be superman but it is the supernatural power of God that keeps him going. I know I do not speak for myself alone when I say that God has used Pastor Dave and Beth in a mighty way to bring restoration, deliverance, adjustment, and love in each of our lives. Let us bless them during the month of October for Pastor Appreciation Month.

Children's Ministry

By: Aaron L.

This exciting new day that we're in as a church has not been limited to the adults or the youth but has also reached right to the very core of the children's ministry! We are currently in a major transition with the administration of the kids program as well as establishing a team of people who will lay down their life for God, each other, and the children. I know God is pleased with our effort to build a team that actually functions like the Bible says it should. I must admit I find my own understanding and abilities for this task very humbling. However, I know God is faithful and He loves the children so much that He will help us to accomplish this thing if we are willing and don't give up.

One of the greatest desires that the children's team has for the children is that they will experience an intimate relationship with the living God. We are not satisfied with them just knowing about God or learning how to come to church and going through a few motions. We really want them to know God as a Father and to love Him with all their heart.

Although this is one of our goals it is not our responsibility alone. Parents have great opportunities to demonstrate a godly lifestyle in real life situations. Parents also have many opportunities to pray over their children and to impart to them a spiritual sense of who God is. As you have walked with God and experienced circumstances that have built character and wisdom in your lives, it is your responsibility to train your children in these things.

This principle is seen in Deuteronomy 4:9 "Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;" Along with this command, we have a promise in Proverbs 22:6 which says, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." This is a good verse for us to have. It is an encouragement to us because building lasting foundations in the children's lives is another one of our desires.

As parents, and even for the team, it is easy to get discouraged when dealing with issues in the children's lives. As I get discouraged with what seems to be a slow process at times, God is faithful to remind me that He is the author and finisher of all faith. God does not start a good work and then abort it just because people don't grow very fast. It is easy to get discouraged when we look at the physical things instead of at Him and trust in the promises that He has given us. When we look to God and all His faithfulness we know that if we are willing to do our part, He will accomplish even more than we can think or imagine. It is easy to miss God's best by thinking of good things that we want God to do for our children.

I know that God is taking us as a team to a higher level so that we can take these kids to another level that is higher than they have reached up to this point. This team joins with the apostle Paul as he said in Philippians 3:12, "Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus."
